Hi Crystal, Debbie here: Dialog boxes are those boxes that contain, combo boxes, list boxes, edit fields, etc. A couple examples are the "open file" dialog box, and the "font" dialog box. Dialog boxes require you to make selections from lists, radio buttons, or check boxes. An example of a message box would be when you close an application and you are asked if you want to save your work. In this case, you are makeing a yes or no choice, or ok or cancel choice. These are usually read by JAWS. The message boxes I rarely get read to me are usually error message boxes. Hope I haven't confused you. I wasn't trying to criticize you as much as to see where you were having difficulty. Sometietimes, it is as simple as a box needing an okay button, or, dialogs associated with various programs. As an example, I just downloaded and update to Omni Page, and a dialog came up requesting that I put my cd in the drive. Jaws pretty much only wanted to read the buttons, but not all the information in the dialog. This seems to be happening a lot.
