Hi Crystal,

My software setup is similar to yours and I also have Openbook v 6.0. Ever
since I did the upgrade from Anti Virus to Norton Internet Security I've had
an incredible amount of trouble with SSIL errors. Usually Open Book won't
even run and sometimes Jaws has to be started mannually even though it is
set up to start automatically. Sometimes the Anti Virus part of the Norton
package won't run even though Auto Protect is supposed to be set to start
automatically. In that case you get a Norton Error message, 4002,515 when
you try to get into the Options part of Anti Virus.

In addition, the Open Book Install Wizzard locks up when you have finished
either a REPAIR or MODIFY action.

At any rate there seems to be something tied to SSILEX.EXE and SAPI speech,
Norton Internet Security, and JAWS/OPEN BOOK. Yes, this is a JAWS list but,
somehow this whole thing seems to tie together although Open Book seems to
be what gets trashed the most. I'm new to these lists too and imagine that
someone who knows allot more than I do has already got a fix for all of this
but, until you get some very definite information, I'd proceed with great
cawtion on your Norton upgrade.

Bob

Subject: Jaws and NAV 2004

Hi,
I have Jfw 5, Windows 98 se, and, am currently using Norton Anti-Virus 2003.

I need to either upgrade to 2004, or, decide to buy the virus definitions,
in the next couple of weeks, as my subcription will be running out.

If anyone is using NAV 2004, how do you like it with Jaws?

Is there much difference between 2003 and 2004, as far as accessibility is
concerned?

Thanks.

Crystal
