I must agree. I'll keep the new voices around, especially when I want a
female voice, but Eloquence is hard to beat for overall intelligibility.
It's right in there with the old
DecTalk hardware. My only serious objection to it has always been that,
at their best, the females, especially Shelly, still retain a
Marge-Simpson quality.

The voices are about 100 megs a piece. They are okay. Not great not bad.
I
think Samantha is the most clear voice. I heard that crystal with the
AT&t
natural voices is better. I still think eloquence works just fine. I
find
that when I am listening to a document with Samantha, I have to stop at
least once and go over it again with eloquence. I have been using
eloquence
for a very long time and am not use to some of the ways that Samantha
pronounces words.
