Hi, listers,

I am trying to help a co-worker get her Focus44 Braille display set up on =
=3D
her XP laptop. She has sp2 installed. The Focus44 worked very well when =
=3D
she was using Jaws 5.1 on the same laptop. But when she upgraded to Jaws =
=3D
6 the Focus44 was not recognized. We are using the USB connection on the =
=3D
left port on the Focus44. We tried switching to the right port but with =
=3D
no luck. We tried rebooting but this had no effect either.
Finally, we ran the Jaws modify and unchecked Focus44. We rebooted and =
=3D
then ran the "Add Braille" and reselected the Focus44. This is the =3D
message we received:

"An installation support file could not be removed.
graphic 722
The parameter is incorrect."

We also tried using the power adapter and then removing the power adapter =
=3D
but there was no change. When we originally plugged the Focus44 into the =
=3D
laptop it was recognized as a new USB device.

I am at a loss. I don't know if it is a Jaws6 thing, an XP thing, or a =
=3D
service pack2 thing, or something totally different.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Sincerely,
