Hi there,Chelsea. On one computer, I've had the same types of problems in MS Word with no solutions working. I would try some of these suggestions, however. I would try changing some Word settings, such as under View trying setting the zoom at both 100% and 75 %. Very importantly, I've would definitely make sure that the view was set at normal. I would suggest turning off screen tips and animations as well which I believe is under Tools and then Options. Make sure that the screen is maximized. Also, make sure that the Office Assistant is disabled. On my main computer some of these solutions "did" work, such as turning off the Office Assistant. On the Tools menu under Help, the selection Show the Office Assistant should be unchecked. The Office Assistant was a real pain until I turned it off. I hope you have luck because I'm really struggling, like I said, on one of my computers. I've been working with FS via E-mail to fix it, but it's been a losing battle. I strongly suspect at this point that it's another mystery program running that is causing interference, such as McAfee. Or maybe not. Who knows? I'm pulling my hair out, though. I wish you better luck and hope some of my suggestions that were relayed to me in the past will assist you in some way. Chris Feist - The one and only! -----Original Message----- On Behalf Of lady_arwen@xxxxxxxx Hi list, I've noticed that JFW is having a lot of problems reading in MS Word, and less frequently in Outlook's messages. This is the kind of thing that happens. I'll have a document open in Word. I'll arrow down using the 2 key. At times, the PC cursor will read a line and freeze on it--i.e. I can't go up a line or down a line. At other times, it will only read parts of lines, or say blank, when I know that there should be text there. It does this to a much lesser degree in Outlook. Also, I've noticed that it will read text that I had previously read, but only parts of it, and sometimes when I'm typing, it will start talking for no reason. I apologize if this isn't making sense, but it's the best I can do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
