JFW and IE* on XP home edition.

Hi folks!  I've heard from some Vista users that say IE8 works well with jfw.  
How about on XP home?  I'm getting an automatic update message, saying IE* 
should be downloaded, but I don't want to, if it doesn't work well with JFW.  
Any adivce would be welcomed.  Thanks very much.
