I'm getting acquainted with the brand new release and, as usual, I'm more than impressed. I have experienced one problem with my electronic Bible, which is something of a legacy app. I begin to read a chapter, and the speech gets through about one screen (sentence mode can often do somewhat better) and stops. The reason it stops is the cursor is at the very bottom of the chapter, having taken off like a jack rabbit. Of course, the synthesizer (and it doesn't matter which synth I'm using) can't find it, so it does nothing. Right now my solution is to use Deluxe Bible under 7.10. This is not overly burdensome, as I have hot keys for both versions, but I'd like to tame that cursor. It might require some degree of scripting, which I admit I've never tried. Just changing the standard parameters, or trashing the configuration file and creating anew one won't work. I've tried all four variations of Say All, and both Eloquence and ScanSoft synths. If I have to keep using 7.1, I will, as changing my translation of choice is not an option (The Deluxe is the only program I know that features the New American, translated by the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine). Has anyone out there addressed a similar problem with an older application? Ted Dr. Ted D.
