JFW 7 strange behavior!

Ok, here's a strange situation. When my computer boots, I get JFW 7 and the correct synthesizer, my Tripletalk PCI, and speech settings. Later on, if I have to unload and restart Jaws with ctrl+alt+J, Jaws 7 starts, but reverts back to Eloquence.
Assuming both processes are running the same executable file, how is this possible? I don't have any other version of Jaws on the system at present.
