I have mcAfee, and after JAWS is loaded, I have to bring the Mcafee
window into focus by pressing alt-tab several times at which point I use
the JAWS keystroke insert +F5 and down arrow to the password line,
press enter , type my password and press enter.

Deb, when this happens is it possible that you have accidentally turned home
row on? If so, press insert + space bar to turn home row off.
Ansi is a form of character and symbol representation.
