Thanks. I'll listen to the podcast to learn a couple of things. But you
should know that if you were subscribed to, let's see, Blind Tech and maybe
Blind Audio, you'd have heard all about this stuff ages ago, and watched it
develop. It's not as if no one's been talking about these things. Honest.
And I see that Anna Dresner, who prefers to call herself Woody Anna Dresner,
is the guest on this. She does a lot with interpreting and explaining blind
access technology on the Web. I happened to hear her as the contestant on
the NPR word puzzle show one Sunday morning a few months ago, which was fun.
Pleasant. I emailed her once and asked why she calls herself "Woody Anna" in
so many venues, wondering if her parents had named her Woodrow because
they'd wanted a boy, or because he's a lesbian fan of Woody Allen, or what.
I don't think I mentioned the lesbian idea, actually. She sayd no, she was
just called Woody in college or something. And I'm still thinking, what the
hehll kind of nickname is that for a girl aor woman? That's really
eccentric, especially as it's not a tip of the hat to Woody Allen, Woody
Harrelson, Woody Guthrie, or nobody. just out of left field. Woody.
Whatever.
Personally, I think Anna dresner's a damn lovely name. But, well, it's her
name. If I had a daughter, i guess I'd call her Spike Allesandra Deutsch?
Maybe not.

Hi all,
I got an IPod Shuffle for my birthday. I did some research on the
Internet to find out whether Itunes was accessible or not. I came upon a
blog where people were saying that it is the most inaccessible software
ever! But, someone told me about scripts for JAWS that are compiled in
England by some British company. Are these scripts any good? This person
told me that they were a nightmare for her. But, I'd like to get
opinions on that before I proceed to buying them.
I have a French JAWS as my primary program, as my environment is in
French. However, I do have an English JAWS installed and I might switch
to it when using the scripts.
Also, I can't seem to download the latest version of Itunes. Tbe links
for Windows and Mac are are on the same line so Ican't get at them. Any
help with this would be greatly appreciated!
I would feel rather embarrassed if I had to tell the person who gave me
the IPod that she will have to return it due to its inaccessibility.
Therefore, I'm pleaing for help, as I REALY want to use it! The IPod
itself seems quite simple (she had asked the guy at the store which IPod
he recommended for a blind person), but it's Itunes that gives me the
creeps! I just don't want to tell her: "Sorry, doesn't work! Please
return it!" So much for a birthday gift!
