I thought the option was 'merge cells' on the verbocity dialogue.

In the sheet / workbook
Do insert v
Arrow down to text description... and hit spacebar and it will change from
off to on
Hit the escape key and you hear changes saved

now arrow around the sheet and you will hear when a tex in a cell is
overlapped and which cell it overlaps and I think how many charectors.

Subject: JAWS and Excel Question

Hello:

I was doing some training with a client this week using Excel with
JAWS.
I noticed that unlike Window-Eyes, JAWS won't tell you if the
information you have in a cell overlaps into another cell or is
clipped,
at least not automatically. Does anyone know how to find out if what
you have in a cell fits using JAWS so you can determine if you have to
re-format the information in that cell?

Thanks,
