In my view, two versions of JAWS 11 will be released, JAWS 11 (32-bit version) and JAWS 11 (64-bit version).

To: "JFW list" <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, November 06, 2008 2:08 PM Subject: JAWS and 64-bit OSYesterday, Serotek announced the release of System Access 3.0,which it claims is the first commercial screen reader to be fully compatible with the 64-bit version of Windows Vista, which is becoming increasingly popular as the stqandarrd OS in many new PCs. With Microsoft set to release Windows 7, a64-bit OS, sometime next summer, the question arises whether JAWS will be ready to meet the challenge. Obviously, JAWS will have to modified to work with Windows 7, but does this mean that it will no longer work with older 32-bit versions of XP and Vista? It seems to me that JAWS would need to become even more resource intensive than it already is in order to be compatible with both 32 and 64 bit operating systems. So to speculate, will JAWS 11 be compatible only with Windows 7, or will it still work with 32 bit versions of XP and Vista? Just curious what the real geeks out here think.
