I have not heard of this specific issue but I wonder if Jaws is reporting a
key press or combination. on this ThinkPad there are forward and back keys
for use with Outlook Express which Jaws announces as F19 and F18 for
example. The function key for accessing specific hardware functions like
turning on the keyboard light or dimming the screen is announced as Help.
None of the combined functions like those mentioned are announced by Jaws at
all.
Perhaps she is experiencing something like that.

Hi All:
I took a call from someone who is using JAWS Version 5.1 on a Windows XP Home machine. She has installed a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard. Ever since she did this, JAWS will intermittently say "clear." She can be in any application when this happens, and the word "clear" isn't shown on the screen anywhere. Has anyone heard of this behavior before from JAWS and if so, do you know of a fix for it?
Thanks,
