Hi, thanks all for the help so far. I plan to do the first ever maintenance on this laptop later, which will include checking for updates. Someone mentioned that dell users needs to update their sound card drivers, correct? Well I have an HP Compaq Presario machine, but that doesn't mean to say that they use different sound drivers than the Dell. Bare in mind that when you first start using Vista, it does various bits and pices to improve performance over time.
