OK, this is incredibly bazaar! I'm running jfw, v 10.0.512 on Windows XP
Home Edition SP3. I have all the windows updates, including the ones that
are noncumulative. I have experienced this exact same issue in jfw V9 as
well. I have messenger set where all conversation windows use hearts s the
background. I dont' think that is rellavent though, as it never has been in
the past. Running 1024X by 768X pixils 32Bit color. I'm using the Windows
Classic scheme with all conversation windows maximised. OK, having given
this info, here is my problem:
When I am in a conversation window, Let's say, I typed: Hello Dad. I hope
that you are having a wonderfjul night.
OK, notice: wonderfjul. I did that on purpose. That wasn't a typo. Well,
put it this way. It was a typo, but not in the since of a typo in this
e-mail. OK, if I now hit the back space key, I hear all the letters being
back spaced out, just like normal. The issue however arises when I try
moving to previous word either with insert numpad 4 on my desktop, or
capslock J on my laptop. If I do this, all I here is blank, blank blank.
Now, If I then do control shift end, to select the text from the insertion
point to the end of the message, then! it reads what is selected just fine.
Also, if I read the current line with insert+num pad 8, or on the laptop,
capslock i, All it reads is the clock. If I do insert page down to read the
status line, all I hear is the clock. Yeah, I'm positive I'm in the
conversation window. For one, I have low limited vision, but enough to see
the screen to know which window has focus. Not only that, insert+T does!
confirm I'm on the correct window. Again, I always! hit alt space, then X,
to maximise the conversation window. Even if I dont' do this though, and
leave it as is, in the restored state, it still! goes haywire. I've tried
this on both my Desktop, and! my laptop. On both systems I've been able
both with jfw8 and with jfw9 to regenerate this issue. I don't wanna get
off topic, but just to narrow it down, I'll say this and then leave the fact
at a hush, I promise: I have never! had Window-Eyes or NVDA or the like do
this. So it's not a global screen reader issue I guess is what I'm saying.
It seems to be universal just! to jfw.
According to device Manager, I have a Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family
Display adapter.
When I go to the Display chaining Manager, the primary is JAWSVID, and that
is the only thing there. BTW, in device manager the only display adapter is
the Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family. So, I don't need to hook the
secondary chain into the primary through regedit like FS has people do on
some a the newer systems. You obviously can see I'm quite an advanced jfw,
and pc user. I'm totally clueless on what in the bird is going on. This
makes absolutely! entirely no sinse! never've seen sumpthin so bazaar!
Chris.
