Addison, we are also assuming that the CD drive in your computer only plays CDs. Many newer computers include a single "combination" drive that plays both cds and dvds. Are we correct to assume that you have tried inserting the dvd in your drive?

Hi Addison, the only way you can play DVD's on your computer is to either upgrade from an internal CD-ROM drive to an internal DVD-ROM drive, or buy an external DVD-ROM/DVD-RW drive. Once you've done that, you'll also need a player that can play DVD's. One such programme mentioned on either this list or another is called VLC Media Player, and it's free. If you do a google search for "VLC Media Player", including quotes, you should be able to find the website for the company that makes this programme and also allow you to download it. Hope that helps.
