Hi,
I can't understand the problem, exactly, but I'd like to add two comments.
First, as Chris says, Alt Enter is the Windows keystroke equivalent for
opening the Files menu in an application and clicking on Properties. Now, I
don't know what this may have to do with the person's problem, but that's
what alt enter is, basically. Ordinarily you might use it to look at the
properties tabs of a Word document, or the full headers of an email, or the
setup of the launch rules for a program icon on your Desktop. Stuff like
that. I don't know why it's doing something interesting or helpful on a Web
search that won't load a page.

Second, just to be sure the person is conducting their search properly,
almost always you should type your search terms into the edit box as
described below, but it's not a good idea just to automatically his Enter at
that point, because there may be a couple of search button options beneath
(or sometimes above) that edit box, and it's a good idea to tab first to
hear what you're going to click on. Just a minor detail, but it could
possibly demystify something occasionally.

hth, and sorry not to know anything about the QVC search behavior.

I think alt enter is a Windows Keystroke?
