As wonderful as iTunes is claimed to be by those who love and adore it, I
would not use iTunes for the reasons you specified and I will stay with
Winamp.
I hate programs that trawl your hard disks and suck in all your media files
without your permission and build lists that you do not want, etc.
Winamp has been my choice for playing audio and viewing video for many years
and will remain so.
And of course, the program is very JAWS friendly.
