Cheryll, the first reason I chose Avast, is because I understood that AVG
7.5 free was going to expire as of Sunday last. From what I read just the
other day that was a misunderstanding, but no matter; what's done is done.
Sooner or later AVG 7.5 is going to stop being updated anyway. For one thing
Avast works with Windows 98, and I also have an older copy of Jaws, version
5.1 on that system. The interface is very accessible, and there is audible
feedback when definitions have been updated successfully. this audio
feedback really impresses me, and updates are done automatically.
