Lord, how time flies when you're having fun. I didn't think the
trademark had been around that long. I became a user in April, 1996, so
I guess I've seen just about every major JFW release. I know it was
definitely 1.x back then. I had some hands on with JFD as well, but
was singularly unimpressed with that product. My department was told
that, in order for both products to work properly, they must both be
installed. Well, JFD didn't work very well in our Windows 3.11
installation, and my old faithful ASAP worked like a charm, so you don't
have to think long or hard to figure out what happened. I think the
department should have gotten a refund, but no one ever moved to do so.

Ted,

Actually, Freedom Scientific was formed in April of 2000, and Serotek
was
founded in November of 2001, according to their Web pages. However, FS
didn't seem too interested in them until recently. Maybe FS got a
little
nervous when Serotek invaded their home turf. In February of this year,

Serotek announced that the Florida Division of Blind Services was
testing
their remote access solutions. Maybe Yardbird's comment about the big
dog
marking its territory wasn't too far off the mark.
