P.S. One more thing that put me off even considering taking a look at that
on the fly verbosity menu is that, well, the very same setting is defined
differently in it than it is in the Configuration Manager. Where someone
here found it in the Insert V menu as a verbosity item, its place in
Configuration manager, which I take to be more or less gospel in terms of
Jaws nomenclature,is not in a menu area called verbosity, but in HTML
processing, which seems perfectly appropriate to me. I don't think of this
as something to do with verbosity, fundamentally, but with something about
focus.

Well, as everyone is fond of saying, there are a million ways to get things
done. Or there are five ways to do something in Windows. or Jaws. Or
whatever fits the bill at the moment. But the inconsistency in what things
are named in Jaws confuses and annoys me from time to time, and this is one
of those times. Just a humble observation.

Oh, I'm sorry. I very seldom even think of that Insert V menu. Usually,
the changes I make to Jaws in the comfit Manager are things I want to be
universal, so I don't mess around with the Insert V. And if the problem was
in a Web page and fors fields, I wouldn't have even thought to open the
Insert V menu while the context was my email program. That confuses me a
little.

anyway, I know it's another approach. I just don't have much use for it.

Thanks.

Hi Yardbird, we just got to it by different routes. When you have an email
open, as I did at the time I looked for the option forms mode uses virtual
labels is on the insert v menu. In any other circumstance it isn't in it.
                    John.
