Sorry Moty, you cannot change a .TIF into a .DOC file, or at least you =
cannot do so directly.
When you send a .DOC file by fax it is turned into an image or a picture =
of the document of 75 dots per inch. It is a picture of the document =
which is sent out over the telephone lines. Similarly, when you receive =
a fax it is a picture which is received. That could be hand writing, =
crayon drawing or typewritten text or even another Word document which =
has been converted into a picture to be sent out over the fax. This is =
just how faxes work. They send and receive pictures, not characters or =
letters.
The image, stored as a .TIF image could be recognized by an OCR (optical =
character recognition) programme like Open Book or K1000 and maybe =
Omnipage,I don't know if it has that facility or you could print then =
scan it with one of those programmes. There still remains a problem, at =
75 DPI (dots per inch) the image isn't really clear for those OCR =
programmes which prefer 300 DPI.
