Answers:
1) How do I backup my jaws user settings?
Go to Start/Programs. Arrow down to JAWS 11 and right arrow twice and hit
enter. You're now in your user settings folder.
Ctrl+a to select all and Ctrl+C to copy all.
Find or create a new folder somewhere on your desktop or your hard drive and
give it a name you'll remember. Open that new or already-created folder and
Press Ctrl+V to paste all your files and folders. Done.
2) Should I uninstall my current build of jaws 11
Not necessary.

3) Will the authorization code for my current version of jaws be the
one I enter for the new build to work on my computer once installed?

First of all, I just want to thank Chris and Bob for their help: I
thought I could do this but wasn't sure.
Now I just want to make sure of a few things before installing the
latest build of jaws:
1) How do I backup my jaws user settings?
2) Should I uninstall my current build of jaws 11 before installing the new
one?
3) Will the authorization code for my current version of jaws be the
one I enter for the new build to work on my computer once installed?
