Gerald, Almost but not exactly, regarding the below response. What's true is that in order to close Jaws as you would any other program by pressing Alt F4, you have to have the Jaws window onscreen. If you're running Jaws from the system tray, that's never unless you deliberately call it up by pressing Insert J. Or if you're running Jaws from the task bar, as you do most other applications, you'd have to Alt Tab around until you had the Jaws window on screen. Then Alt F4 would work, also. But pressing Alt F4 won't automatically begin the shutdown process as if you'd invoked it from the Start menu. It will just close whatever application is onscreen at that moment. It's only when you're on your desktop (Windows key M or Windows Key D, or no application running in the task bar, that Alt F4 will begin the shutdown process. Hope that clarifies.
