Gerald,
Almost but not exactly, regarding the below response. What's true is that in
order to close Jaws as you would any other program by pressing Alt F4, you
have to have the Jaws window onscreen. If you're running Jaws from the
system tray, that's never unless you deliberately call it up by pressing
Insert J. Or if you're running Jaws from the task bar, as you do most other
applications, you'd have to Alt Tab around until you had the Jaws window on
screen. Then Alt F4 would work, also.

But pressing Alt F4 won't automatically begin the shutdown process as if
you'd invoked it from the Start menu. It will just close whatever
application is onscreen at that moment. It's only when you're on your
desktop (Windows key M or Windows Key D, or no application running in the
task bar, that Alt F4 will begin the shutdown process.

Hope that clarifies.

insert-f4 allows you to close jaws from anywhere. If you use alt-f4, you'd
have to focus on the jaws window first otherwise you'll probably get the
system shutdown dialog.

Is there any difference closing JAWS using Insert + F4 vs. using Alt + F4?
