Hello There:

Gold Wave is very accessable right out of the box.

There are JAWS scripts that add additional keystrokes, which allow you to
access functions without the need to go use them through the program's menu
system.

It is also cheaper than The competition.  I cannot remember the price of the
program, somewhere between $35.00 and $50.00 US, I think.

I use it all the time for my sound editing needs.
