Hi Patti, The purpose of the software is to give users a sort of glimpse of what is coming next on a web page. I woudn't necessarily call it a interim solution for a couple of reasons. First, it's not in competition with what web developers could do to make their sites more accessible. Someone who is in control of what's shown on a web page can do a much better job of indicating where a link leads. The reason for this is simple: the human web author is infinitely smarter than the Audio Enriched Links software when it comes to describing what a web page contains. A web developer could certainly do a much better job of summarizing link destinations if he or she wanted to take the time. However, I don't think web authors would want to label links with as much information as the AEL previews provide. Giving ten highlights of the next page, naming the title of the next page, giving statistics about the next page, and saying if the next page is on the same site or not is far to information to include in the simple label about each link. It would take forever to navigate all the links on a page! Therefore, even if a site was completely accessible, AEL previews might still be beneficial as summaries more detailed than the simple labels web authors give to links.
