Hmm. does it have a mute button. I did that with my laptop once. I
was sure I'd ruined it. Didn't sleep the whole night cause it was my
work computer and I'd hauled off and messed it up, I thought. Turns
out I'd hit the mute button by mistake since it was righ tnext to the
power button and the dern thing wouldn't talk, of course. Had the
wife look at it and she figured it out pretty quick. Have you had a
sighted friend look at it? Is there any vibration from the machine
itself? Does narrator come up? Hit left windows+u to launch
narrator. Least, that's what you do in windows xp, not sure about
windows 7.
