  James,

I ran into this the other day and ended up calling Freedom Scientific Tech
Support about it. They indicated it is related to new features in I.E. 8 being
used by selected sites (Yahoo in particular). They indicated JAWS 11 will
have support for this mode. In the meantime, not much you can do but avoid the
fields that place you in Application Mode.

    Subject: Application Mode?

I started IE8 with JAWS10 and was immediately confounded by something
called Application Mode. I have never encountered this before and I don't know
if it is JAWS or IE8 related. I do know that I could not use the web page after
JAWS said Application Mode. Any thoughts about what this is and why its
appeared on my computer all of a sudden?

    Thanks
