AVG and Jaws 6

Hi,
I have downloaded AVG free version to see if it will help with my computer,
which is running NAV 2005 currently.
I was able to download the program, but can not get to the reference guide
or the firewall setting information. It seems these are in PDF format, and
my computer freezes.
If, anyone is using this program with Jaws 6, can I use it fairly easily
with Jaws?
I'm a little confused about the firewall. Does it include one?
Are there any scripts for Jaws that I need?
Really floundering out here.
