AVG 8.5 Free Version

I installed AVG 8.5 Free Version on my laptop computer.  I have Windows Xp.  
During the first scan, it asked me to register the product, but when I clicked 
on the button to register, I got the message that internet Explorer could not 
access the website.  Am I doing something wrong?
