Dear English Coordinators,
Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for English teachers are forming all
around the country. The idea of a PLC is to brainstorm topics relevant to our
English classrooms and to learn from one another's experiences and knowledge.
Some of the topics that will be dealt with will be about how to teach speaking,
how to manage a classroom, how to get to know your students and other topics
that are connected to promoting spoken language among the students, which is
now in the forefront of the National Program for English. Half of the time of
the hishtalmut will be devoted to input, where teachers in the community will
share issues. Kehilot are opening in Jerusalem and Beit Shemesh- interested
particiapants must register asap via the PISGAH sites.
It is not like a formal hishtalmut, but it will be recognized as a 60 hour gmul
for both Ofek and Oz.

Beit Shemesh (Pisgah Beit Shemesh).
