I tried the verbosity levels. It doesn't cut out the noise of type in text. You can try changing the tutor messages level by jaws+j -> Options -> Basics and the verbosity level by hitting jaws+6 then entering "verbosity" in the search box, then scrolling down to "verbosity level" (I personally use intermediate, having found advanced to leave out too much information I find useful).
