Yvonne, whenever you want to turn caps lock on, in order to type in all
uppercase, you now need to press the caps lock key twice quickly, rather
than just once. This is because you're now also using the caps lock key as
the JAWS key.

Cheers.

John

hello john
thank you for reply
not long after asking how i revert back to lower case being spoken when
typing anything my internet dropped it's connection and jaws stopped
speaking for a while.
jaws does this often.
when i make loads of key presses jaws will stop speaking and i normally have
to restart the computer.
i have no idea why it does this.
however after restarting the computer jaws now speaks in a lower case mode
unless the shift key is held down.
but since changing the insert key to caps lock when i press caps lock it
does not say caps lock and i cannot type everything in upper case.
don't know if the reason for not all being in upper case is because i have
configured the caps lock key to be used as the jaws key but anyway i have
managed to change it
so thank you for your help
Yvonne

Hi Yvonne. When you want to use the caps lock for its standard purpose,
press it twice quickly.

Cheers.

Yvonne, you can choose Numpad Insert, Caps Lock or Scroll Lock to be the
JAWS key for the desktop layout. For JAWS V12, you configure this by going
to the settings centre with JAWS+6. Then select the default application.
Then go to the keyboard node in the tree and open it. Arrow down to, JAWS
key for desktop layout. Press space until the required key is spoken. Then
tab to OK and press Enter.

If you have JAWS 11 or earlier, go to Configuration Manager with JAWS+6,
then select the default application with Ctrl+Shift+d. I think you then go
to the Settings menu with Alt+S, arrow down to Keyboard and hit Enter. You
should then see a dialog which includes a set of radio buttons called, JAWS
key for desktop layout. Choose the required radio button and hit OK.
Finally, exit Configuration Manager with Alt+F4 and choose Yes to save your
changes.

Hope this helps.

John

hi
i would like to change the jaws key to something else as i use the numeric
keypad frequently.
i keep forgetting to change from num loc on and off.
can someone tell me how to change the key?
and of course can it be reversed back to the zero on the numeric keypad if i
feel this was not such a good idea to change it.
1 last question is there any keys i can't use?
i would like to use the caps lock key as this is rarely used for anything
thank you

Yvonne

Hi everybody, re the recent post about inability to access the ice grips
page on the blacktoe website. I assume the person is using IE8. If you add
the site to compatibility view in the tools menu it works fine.
                    John.
