[jaws-uk] foot notes and spell check

Hi,
a friend at university needs to be able to do foot notes in her essays.
could you give some step by step instructions as to how she can do this
easily? she is using jaws 8 and word 2007.
also she gets the word 'selected' spelt out every time she wants to hear
the suggestions in spell check. is there a way to stop this please?
