Hi PaulI am a Facebook user and use the site regularly. I didn't find signing up a problem because there was an audio link for the verification. Instead of having to put what was shown in the image into the box, it played some numbers which I then entered into the box. It is quite a long time since I registered so providing they haven't changed things you shouldn't have a problem.
As I said, I've been using Facebook for quite some time now and find it perfectly accessible to a Jaws user. I have no sight at all and don't have any problems with the site or any of it's applications.

Hi Paul. The first thing to consider is how you will get past the verification box that appears when you set up your account. it's one of those enter the characters in the image into the box. The most straight forward method if you have no sighted assistance is probably to email facebook about it. there is info on the web site.Otherwise you could install firefox and download the Webvisum plug in whichcan solve these captures as they call them, putting the result on your windows clipboard for pasting. You do need to set up an account for this and log into it for this to work. Once set up there are lots of things you can do but I only send people messages, update my status and set up my profile. for this and other things it is best to use the site http://m.facebook.comThis is the mobile version of the site and it is generally more accessible.Note that when searching for people you can search for both name and email which can be useful when searching Regards Graham Graham Page Home Phone: 0207 265 9493 Mobile: 07753 607980 Fax: 0870 706 2773 Email: gpage@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: gabriel_mcbird@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: gabriel_mcbird----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Roberts" <anorack@xxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, February 10, 2009 11:03 PM Subject: [jaws-uk] facebook query Hi all, whilst I don't use social networking sites and have not had any realincentive to do so, I am thinking of using facebook as I kno some people onthere.Would be interested to hear from others on this list to see whether they useit or not.
