Thanks for all the responses re the Braille @ sign. Now it occurs to me, I do recall seeing the "The" symbol in British specific publications and I expect that's the one I should use. Of course the only worry is that people who are not used to computer Braille with interpret it as the word "The", but nothing I can do about that as they wouldn't recognise the other symbol either if I used it.
