[jaws-uk] PowerBraille Problem With Jaws 6.2 Resolved

A week or so ago I posted to the list to ask if anyone had experienced
problems using Jaws 6.2 with a PowerBraille display. Previous versions of
Jaws worked well with this display, but the refresh rate in Jaws 6.2 was so
slow that often Eloquence had finished reading the line before the Braille
had caught up.
I tried altering any settings in the Jaws config file which looked as if
they might be responsible, but nothing seemed to help, so as a last resort,
I decided to uninstall and re-install 6.2. The first time I did this, I
merged the settings from 6.1 as soon as 6.2 was re-installed, but I was left
with exactly the same problem as before. When I tried a second time though,
I decided not to merge the settings but to build them up from scratch, and
surprisingly everything worked absolutely perfectly with the Braille after
that.
I can't say whether there's a problem with the merge utility itself, or if
it's just certain settings which didn't transfer successfully from 6.1 to
6.2, but I'm pleased that I have at last managed to get things working as
they are supposed to. I think I will avoid the merge utility in future, and
would be interested to know if anyone else has had problems merging settings
from one version to another.
