You could use NVDA instead which you can run straight from CD you can
even use a speech synth from the CD if there isn't one installed or set
up on the machine. You'd need to get used to the screenreader prior to
using to fix problems and test that it was capable of handling the sort
of situations and applications you would be working with.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Portable JFW?

Hi all,

Lets say I became integrated into this college's computing services
helpdesk support team and got delegated to go to end users PC's to fix
small uncomplicated problems. There must be upwards of 300 machines
here, and of course a rather large network server.

I've had a read through the network jaws and the remote access pages but
I don't see how this would really solve my query, as jfw still has to be
installed on the client pc local hard disk.

Am I restricted to simply taking my CD with me and working under 40
minute demo mode? Can I not ask the end user to log off so I can log
onto the system via my own administrator account with my jfw all
configged ready to go??

Could jfw be run from a pen drive?

Sorry if I'm being thick, ...after all, it's Friday!

Kind regards,
