Jfw loads prior to the windows log-in screen and uses the settings of
the last jfw user to have been logged in, or failing that defaults to
factory settings for the log-in proceedure.

I assume, George, that the only thing which can't be personalised is the

start Jaws first option because it happens before login.

Before we all go off the deep end, and report all manner of bugs, may I
suggest a very careful reading of What's New would not be a bad thing.

One of the most significant changes to JAWS 6 is the
location on your system of the whole JAWS program and files structure.

You will now find the main program is installed in
c:\Program Files.

But in addition, personal settings are stored under
"Documents and Settings" where they reside for each User.
And if you are using Windows XP, even as a single user
system, there will almost always be at least a "guest" user.

However, those who have other JAWS users using their system will
immediately appreciate the benefits of this.

Settings and scripts which are common to ALL users, are also stored in
"Documents and Settings" but in the "All Users" account.

And before firing off a rocket at Freedom Scientific about
all this, please bear in mind that this structure now
complies much more closely with Windows Standards.

Overall, I doubt the single-user will even notice these changes.
However, I'm equally sure the "power user", the "Network user" and just
plain "tinkering user", may come across a few initial teething issues
which may be difficult to fully understand.

George Bell.
