  What is the point of thanking George when he has already left?  He said he 
left with immediate effect, so I assume he has already departed the list.

  Of course, most of us appreciate the time and effort he has put in, but it 
would make more sense to tell him off list.

  Are we being moderated at all?  who will be taking over?
