Hi I turn auto forms mode off the second I start working with a machine. This solves problems like you have described and can be done from with in configuration manager. 1. Press insert or caps and F2. 2. Select configuration manager from the list by pressing C and then press enter. 3. Once inside, press control shift and D to select the default JAWS configuration file. 4. Press Alt and S for the set options menu, and go down to forms mode options, which should be the first option down past user options. 5. Press Enter on it and unselect the check box that says "use auto forms mode". 6. shift and tab to OK. Press Enter on it. 7. Press control and S to save the configuration file and exit using Alt and F4. You shouldn't get stuck like that again. I hope this helps. By the way if you happen to like the auto forms mode sounds, you can still use them to tell you when going in and out of forms mode, just tab past the use auto forms mode checkbox and select the use sounds one before OK-ing and completing the rest of the steps. Hope this helps you. Erica. It sounds to me like you are getting stuck automatically in "Auto Forms" mode so you could try pressing the Plus (+) key on your NumberPad to change to PC Cursor mode and this should then allow you to move up and down again. It will, however, turn on Auto Forms mode again if you stray back into and edit field or similar. I've particularly noticed this when in Yahoo! Mail (Jaws will just stop speaking and the only way out is to tab around or, sometimes to close Yahoo and go back in). Can anyone offer any suggestions as to how I can avoid this? I'm using Jaws 10, Windows Vista Home Premium and have 3gb of RAM.
