Hi Catherine,

When you've inserted the picture, right click on it and
select Properties. Go to the Web Tab, and give it some Alt
text. Save, close and re-open, and see if the Alt Text is
spoken back.

George.

Hi George,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm still not sure what's going
on, as after=20
inserting the picture and reducing its size I am no longer
able to arrow=20
around to move between cells. Perhaps my arrowing around
changes the=20
picture somehow - because after I arrow a bit and JAWS says
nothing I go to=20
close the file and Excel asks me if I want to save the
changes. So I tried=20
again, and this time moved around the cells by using alt
control arrows, but=20
when I get to the cell where I inserted a picture JAWS says
blank. Do you=20
know whether JAWS would pick up that there is a picture
there in Excel? Is=20
there any other way I can tell the picture has definitely
been inserted?

Catherine
