Open configuration manager, go to speech and sounds manager
Tab to edit current scheme
Control tab until you are on the control type tab
Tab once then Press R twice when you land on the list view
You should be on Read only, now you have four options, tick the ignore
checkbox, save changes on the way out and you're done.

Hth, Robin

Dorothy,

1. MouseOver.
Configuration Manager
Ctrl Shift D to bring up the global changes or skip this line if you
only
want the application changed. I would suggest global.
Now do Alt S for Set Options.
H for HTML and enter
Ctrl Tab to the Misc page.
Tab several times until you get to Indicate Element Attributes and
uncheck.
Ok this and save changes.
Done.

2. Read Only.
I think it was Carlos who suggested going to the Basic settings in Jaws
to
solve this.
Insert J and bring up Jaws.
Open Options SubMenu.
Enter on Basics.
Cursor down to Announce Custom Messages Only.
Ok this and save changes.

There is a way through the Speech and Sounds Manager but I, or somebody
else, will describe this if necessary.

3 and 4 Greater Than and =20.
Both these can be put into the Dictionary Manager, separately of
course.
Because the Greater Than is a single character you will need to
highlight it
to copy to clipboard. You do this by putting the cursor on the symbol,
holding down the shift key and cursoring to the right once. Now copy to
clipboard and paste into the first field of the Dictionary Manager Tab
to
next field and enter a space through the spacebar. Tab to Ok and save
changes.
You do exactly the same for =20 but you won't need to
highlight.anything.
In the first field after entering on the Add button, type =20. Tab to
next
field and enter a space again. Ok and save changes as before.

In 3 and 4 you are telling Jaws to treat these symbols as though they
were
a space and, therefore, says nothing. The symbols are still there.

Regards

David

Hallo David,
I am not sure what you mean by "Misc" miscellaneous what? and you
mention
Element attribute, I am lost there I fear. I know the obvious
thmaximising
and minimising as I do this all the time but Elements I have not
heard that expression. David do you think some time you could cover the
following. Now I know in the past this may have been covered but I have
lost
it. I would like to how to get rid of

1 Mouse Over
2 Read only Edit.
3 greater than
4. when reading Jaws list using O E. equals 20. Is this all fairly
straight
forward? The last I think may not be curable, but have you ever had a
stab
at it. I think once I saw Tiddy suggest something. Dorothy.
