Gordon, I think you are mixing 2 things up here. Addaware is designed for removing spyware which is software that ends up on your machine or cookies that are used by your web browser. You seem to be talking here mainly about spam which is unsolicited emails. There are programs that can get rid of this but, personally, unless you are getting more than about 10 messages a day, I would say it is just as effective to delete them manually. I know there are programs such as spampal and Kactus Spam which can help reduce spam by allowing spam to be marked as spam in the subject line so you can create message rules to get rid of it, but i THINK THIS IS ONLY NECESSARY IF YOU GET A LOT OF JUNK every day. I've since tried Adaware and although it found 34 critical things which I've removed, I still get the same amount of rubbish, perhaps even more. Let me explain quickly. I found about 1000 emails in an unused mailbox on my provider, wo because they were in my unused mailbox which I'd forgotten about I brought them into outlook express. Since then each day my email intake has at least doubled with loads of rubbish, e.g. more viagra, more diets, etc. However there have also been a number of undeliverable messages, even although they do not appear in my sent items. Perhaps I'm looking to remove this by using the wrong program. Has anyone any alternatives, for removing or cutting down the spam? Thanks.
