My Iyo is 6 years old, on its second PSU (the first was replaced shortly after purchase). The machine is used daily, switched off at night and was working reliably. I've just returned from 5 weeks away, during the whole of which period the computer was switched off (and also at the wall socket, i.e. powered down completely). On first attempting to start up, nothing happened - there was no response whatsoever. I tried all the obvious steps like changing fuse, using a different socket etc. I was surprised that the PSU could fail while inactive, but Andrew at CJE agreed that it was the most likely culprit and a new one is on its way. I'm not sure what the moral of the story is; probably 'never switch off'! It's been stood idle for 2 years, and boots up fine, apart from complaining about the lack of network on startup. A good testament to these machines, since 3 out of 4 of my x86 machines have dead CMOS batteries, and don't boot up, and the 4th needs a new pump in it's 9 month old water cooler. Yea they have also been idle for 2 years too. > >Awesome Mail > >On 3 Oct 2011, at 10:28, CJE Sales <sales@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > >> On Mon 03 Oct, Learning Partners wrote: >>> >>> My Iyo is one of the last produced so is just about 3 years old.
