Does it matter ? I am having a similar problem with trying to get a
server running through ISA.

Thanks,

Kent

Did you create a protocol filter that allows "Both" directions or create
separate ones for each direction?

I created a protocol definition for each port (7100, etc) so that
inbound connections can be made.

I then created a protocole rule allowing internal clients
inbound/outbound access using the newly defined protocol definitions.

Still no luck. When I run "netstat" the ports are not listening.

Did you create an inbound protocol definition and then a protocol rule?

We have ISA installed (Proxy/firewall) with secureNAT clients. The
clients
use an application that requires three special ports to be open and
listening on the firewall at all times. The ports are 7100,7150 and
7200.
I've created a packet filter for these ports (Both directions) and still
they are not listening. What else needs to be configured?

Also, how can I map these ports so that they have a permanent connection
to a server on the internet? Is there a "NATING" feature similar to RRAS
within ISA?
