31337 = E L E E T in "hacker speak" as in "I am elite".

As I recall the original "owner" of this port was a trojan called Sub7, but
who know what it belongs to these days.

Disclaimer: I have no direct knowledge of hackers, hacking, hacker speak,
or being eleet. This information is based solely on the articles I have
read in Playboy.

What is the state of the port? Is it listening? 31337 does not have an app
officially associated with it in IANA's registration. Go to
http://www.protect-me.com/, select Freeware from the Choose A Product
pull-down in the upper-left and download ActivePorts. It will tell you
which image has opened the port.
