Ahah! Someone asked before why Andrews posts never have that. I bet it is
because he replies to other emails and overwrites the subject line....

What does this have to do with Marc's Network Dilemma? If your too lazy to
start a new email, at least delete the other message you replied to....

Subject: VPN issue

Hi,

I posted a issue a while ago that I as having when with this VPN connection
were I'd get connected but couldn't resolve any of their servers via their
names. I could access them via IP without any problems. Someone replied
regarding External DNS and the rest I can't remember right now, anyhow the
local DNS for this company is (SIGH) .local while the external is .com :(

Why MS couldn't tell people from the get go to use .com instead of .local beats
me, I am already dreading the thought of trying to deploy RPC over HTTP again.

Regards,
Andrew

Subject: [isalist] Network Dilema

Hi all, I've been testing a few solutions for our network virus and spam
filtering on exchange. I am having a serious look at the GFI products, however,
I am having issues configuring the update system. It seems that MailSecurity
can be configured to use the ISA proxy to get updates, but MailEssentials will
not where I force all outbound webproxy connections to authenticate. GFI has a
KB article that just says to switch the account that the MailEssentials Agent
runs under to a domain admin account(not gonna happen). My only other thought
would be to modify the networks, and add a new internal network that includes
the IP range of the servers, and set it to not require authentication for web
proxy. Is this a wise practice? Any possible side effects or other suggestions
to my situation? Thanks for your input. - Marc
