Hi
I have seen the article on website to block users trying to get around
application like msn and kazaa on port 80. do you think kazaa's signature
will work for blocking it?

Hi Jason,

I use Skype because its pretty firewall friendly. I understand your
reluctance because of the developers less than pristine past, but the app is
pretty standard VoIP and the nice thing is that its not SIP dependent, so
you don't need an ALG to support it. I don't think it works in Web Proxy
mode, but it will use TCP 80 is that's the only port you want to allow. Does
your corporate network use policy allow VoIP communications over the
Internet?

Hi Chaps,

Someone is trying to make a case for using Skype on our network....now my
instincts tell me that a program designed by the same people who brought us
Kazaa can't be all that healthy for a corporate environment. So I'm inclined
to not allow it (or at least not support it).

Does anyone have any experience or opinions on the use of software like
this?

Cheers,

Jason

P.S.
We currently have an ISA 2004 edge firewall configuration
