Today I received over 50 emails of attachment blocking from the AV software, this plus word lists and domain/user blocking consumes a huge amount of effort I'd rather use the native features OF ISA as the first line of defense and use the AV software to provide me with the information to create filters on ISA.. That way ISA will be performing on modest hardware ..rather than struggle with the burden of obsolete or irrelevant blocking rules. I've been pulling a lot of data from the Trend AV software for Exchange and Server protect for attachment blocking and "Word Filtering" a simple cut and paste into this new tool would be really appreciated. The idea of an import/export would enable the exporting the current rules to use a "find" tool for solving errors and review the new code to be applied. (Naturally the "new" tool would/should have the option to remove the previous data on the isa server.) Finally from an audit perspective this would be of great assistance Thanks Darryl Janetzki -----Original Message----- From: cismic [mailto:cismic@xxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, 8 June 2004 12:30 PM Subject: Re: Script for import/ export ISA 2000 SMTP properties Russian Jew and French royalty. One thing though in a corporate envionment, you can actually store the adult content senders and junk senders in the all users section and that can be stored on a share so that all users can benefit from the inclusion of those text files. I'll either create a small c# console program or use vbscript to do the processing of those items in the adult content and junk mail senders text files. It will do a reverse lookup and then apply the data according to the following sample code. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/isa/isa exte n_73lf.asp I'll try and have this posted or out to isatool.org this week.
